Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This policy explains what Pawenn (pawenn.com, "we") does with data when you use the site. In short: no accounts, no ads, and analytics cookies only if you allow them.
Who we are
Pawenn is a free directory of pet services. Contact for anything in this policy: contact@pawenn.com.
What we process
Listings. The directory shows public business information (name, address, phone, website, opening hours, prices) taken from the businesses' own websites, their public profiles and public records. Some businesses are run by one person, so their name and contact details can be personal data; we show only what the business itself publishes, so that pet owners can find and contact it (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). A business, or a person named on a listing, can ask us to correct or remove it, or object to it, at any time at contact@pawenn.com.
Summaries of Google reviews. For some listings we publish our own short summary of the business's public Google reviews (what customers praise or criticise), with a link to all reviews on Google. We do not show the reviewers' names or copy their reviews. A summary may name staff members whom customers mention, for example a vet; anyone named can ask us to remove their name at contact@pawenn.com.
Reviews you write. If you submit a review, we store the name you enter, your rating, your comment and the date, and show them on the listing. Please do not put anything private in a review. To have a review removed, write to contact@pawenn.com.
Clicks on listings. When you tap call, website, route or email on a listing, we record the type of click, the listing, the page it came from and the time. We do not record your IP address and do not set an identifier.
Server logs. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, our hosting and network providers (Vercel and Cloudflare) process your IP address and the usual request data (page, time, browser) and keep them in their logs for a short time. We do not use them to identify visitors.
Analytics without cookies. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which set no cookies and do not identify you. They count page views with approximate location (country, region, city), device, browser, referring site and page load speed. We see only aggregated statistics, not individual visitors.
Google Analytics - only if you allow it. On your first visit a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics 4. Until you press "Allow", nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookie is set; "Decline" is just as easy. If you allow it, Google Analytics records the pages you view, where you came from, your approximate location (country, region, city), device and browser, and these actions: taps on call, website, route and email on a listing, and switching the language. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_L1HVFGV7ZX, which keep a random identifier for up to 2 years so that repeat visits are counted once. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use it only to see how the site is used; Google signals and advertising features are off. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; declining removes the cookies.
Microsoft Clarity - only if you allow it. The same banner covers Microsoft Clarity, a free tool from Microsoft that shows us how visitors use the pages: heatmaps of taps and scrolling, and anonymous recordings of a visit (where people tap, how far they scroll, what they skip), so we can fix confusing pages. Until you press "Allow", nothing is loaded from Microsoft and no Clarity cookie is set; "Decline" is just as easy. If you allow it, Clarity sets the cookies _clck, _clsk and CLID (an identifier for up to 1 year; _clsk for 1 day), and Microsoft sets its own cookies such as MUID, MR, SM, SRM_B and ANONCHK (a browser identifier for up to 1 year) and records your visit together with device, browser, approximate location and the actions on the page. Form fields and text you type are masked and are not recorded. We use it only to improve the site, not for advertising. Declining, or changing your choice with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page, stops recording and removes these cookies.
Language cookie. If you switch the language, we store one cookie, pawenn_lang, with the language code, for one year. It identifies no one. Your answer to the analytics banner is kept in your browser's local storage (pawenn-analytics-consent), not sent to us. Without your consent to analytics, visiting the site sets no other cookie.
Your location. "Nearest to me" asks your browser for your location. It is used in your browser to find the nearest city and is not sent to or stored by us.
Why, and on what basis
To run the directory, keep it accurate and measure how it is used without cookies (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)); Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and their cookies only with your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy rules on cookies), which you can withdraw at any time; to publish a review you choose to send (consent, Art. 6(1)(a)).
Who else handles data
Our hosting and infrastructure providers process data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting, analytics), Cloudflare (network, security and analytics) and Neon (database). Some of them are based in the United States or use servers there; such transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. If you allow analytics, Google Ireland Limited processes the Google Analytics data on our behalf; it may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. If you allow Microsoft Clarity, Microsoft processes the Clarity data on our behalf; it may be transferred to Microsoft Corporation in the United States, which is also certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell or rent data.
How long we keep it
Aggregated click statistics are kept without time limit, as they identify no one. Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted by Google. Microsoft Clarity keeps recordings for up to 30 days and aggregated heatmap data for up to 13 months, then deletes them. Reviews stay on the listing until you or the business ask us to remove them or the listing is removed.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing or a copy in a portable format, object to processing based on legitimate interest, or withdraw consent (this does not affect processing before the withdrawal), by writing to contact@pawenn.com; consent to analytics can also be withdrawn with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
